Education agents, counsellors and advisors can help you to apply for a course at a university, college or school in the UK.

They can help you choose an institution and make your application. They might also be able to advise you on topics such as visas, accommodation, travel and more.

You don’t have to use an agent or advisor to apply to study in the UK, but if you’d like to find one, then you can search our database of British Council trained agents.

Are you an education agent or counsellor?

The British Council’s UK agent and counsellor training is the flagship training programme for all agents and counsellors who work with UK education providers.

Agents and counsellors who successfully complete the training programme, and who sign up to the National Code of Ethical Practice for Education Agents, are certified by the British Council. Their details are also added to the database of certified agents and counsellors, used by both students and institutions to identify potential agent partners.

The training programme and certification are free of charge. If you are an agent or counsellor, find out more or register for the training.
